Aktuelle Lage Einreise Tunesien

Wie einige vielleicht gelesen haben , wollen wir im Juni das erste mal nach Tunesien . Etwas verunsichert durch Kommentare und infos aus dem Forum hab ich noch mal versucht akuelle Infos über die ominöse Hotelbuchung zu bekommen .

Heut hatte ich Glück das Fremdenverkehrsamt Tunesien in Frankfurt telefonisch zu erreichen . Fakt : Die Hotelbuchung wird immer noch gefordert weil man Sicherheitsbedenken hat (Innenministerium). Die Damen wollte nicht so ganz mit der Wahrheit rausrücken aber ich meine verstanden zu haben es gab schon Fälle in jüngster Vergangenheit wo der Verbleibt der Touristen für die Behörden unklar war . Fahrzeuge wurde verlassen vorgefunden . Grenzgebiet Syrien ???? Man will wissen wo die Touris im Zweifel erreichbar sind.Auf meine Frage für wie lange man eine Hotelbuchung braucht , folgte nur schweigen . Auf weitere Nachfrage kam dann : Ja wenn ein Rückfahrt Ticket existiert dann ist das alles komplizierter , der Beamte sieht dann ja wie lange man im Land bleibt !

So ist für mich klar ,es ist reines Glücksspiel ob bei der Einreise nach einer Buchung gefragt wird oder nicht . Zieht selber Eure Schlüsse .

Na, ich weiss nicht. Vielleicht wird da auch was durcheinander geschmissen. Man konnte schon immer mit einem Personalausweis und einer Hotelbuchung einreisen, ohne Hotelbuchung brauchte man einen Pass. Nach Angabe auf der Seite von Tunisia Tourism (der offiziellen Tourismusagentur), ist das nach wie vor so, update 01.12.22. Hier ist die Quelle:

Es ging während der Pandemie einmal um die Isolationspflicht bzw. -möglichkeit. Wahrscheinlich wurde deshalb zeitweise eine Hotelbuchung verlangt. Zu erwähnen ist noch, dass sich die Anforderungen bei der Einreise überall nach der Nationalität der Reisenden richten. Die Schweizer haben's so immer am Einfachsten, die Holländer am Schwierigsten unter den Europäern.

Hi Frank , wie geschrieben ich war Ahnungslos . Dachte auch vieles beruht auf Reglemetierungen aus der Zeit von Covid . Genau das wurde heute wiederlegt , mir war vor dem Telefonat klar es geht um die Isolationspflicht . Demnach müßte das seit 01.12.22 benendet sein , dem ist aber nicht so nach diesem Telefonat . Auch konnte ich aktuell Infos lesen in denen auch auch aus Tunesien diese Sachlage leider bestätigt wurde . Was ich erreichen wollte , das reisende zumindest vorbereitet sind und nicht ahungslos bei der Einreise sind . Die Meldungen das es keine Hotel Pflicht mehr gibt kann ich nur als Glücksfall des einzelnen einstufen , je nach dem wer einem gegenübersitz kann es so oder so ausgehen .

Wir hoffen mit GNV auch ins Land zu kommen , na mal sehen .Ich werde berichten wie es uns ergangen ist .Insgeheim hoffe ich immer noch das diese Hotel/Campingplatz Buchung bis Juni hinfällig ist .

In welchem Land gelten heute noch die (meist im Zusammenhang mit Corona verfügten) Bestimmungen? Und das sollte nun ausgerechnet bei Tunesien doch noch so sein?

Keine Panik..das war vor einem Jahr.

Auf dem "fiche" bei der Einreise, egal ob auf dem Schiff oder im Hafen, sollte immer eine Adresse in Tunesien eingefüllt werden, so wie auch das gefragt ist: "Adresse en Tunisie". Nun kann man da schreiben "circuit", macht man aber nicht, sondern schreibt die Adresse vom Hotel Majestic, Ave. de Paris Tunis oder eine andere Adresse. Beim Grund der Reise "Motivation" da schreibt man entweder den "circuit" oder "touristique" oder beides. Die Sahara schreibt man da nicht hin.

Im Anhang ist die ganze Prozedur von Genua oder Marseille nach Tunis im Detail zum nachlesen auf englisch, wen´s interessiert. Die anderen Häfen in EU kenne ich nicht, die Einreise/Ausreise in Tunis ist aber die die gleiche.

Was viel wichtiger ist: der sog. "sense of place". Dafür kenne ich leider keine passende deutsche Übersetzung. Der Sinn für den Augenblick kommt am Nächsten. Rational betrachtet würde man sagen, man peilt die Lage und macht das Beste draus. Kennt man nun Nordafrika nicht, ist das natürlich schwierig, so rational da ranzugehen, deshalb der "sense of place". Vielleicht kann ja der Eine oder Andere von Euch da was mit anfangen..

Egal, dann machen wir ein copy and paste für Liebhaber des vorher genau Bescheid Wissens:

Med Ferry Crossing / Customs Procedures

The ferry company for the med crossing is CTN / SNCM / GNV / Grimaldi / Tirrenia and you are booked on board the MS Carthage / MS Mediterranee / MS Habib / MS Danielle Casanova / MS Venizelos / MS Tanit / MS xxxxxx. Please be at the port at the time specified on your ticket under H.presentation which is usually three hours prior to departure.

If you have not received a printed ticket but a reference number instead, your ticket will be issued at the Tirrenia/GNV/Grimaldi office in Genoa Port (follow signs) or in the Terminal Building to your right at Marseille Port.

Do not leave your vehicle unattended in either port, if you have to leave the vehicle, get someone to keep an eye on it for you.

For check in you will need:

- Your tickets
- Your passports
- The original vehicle registration document (logbook)

At check in you will be given

- your boarding card in a holder for the mirror
- your cabin passes
- a white card “carte d’embarquement” (Marseille only)

Make sure you get all the above and receive back your passports and vehicle documents. Keep all paperwork together. Move forward and queue in the holding area as directed. Fill in the white card “carte d’embarquement” with your personal details – it is the same than the Tunisian version without the bottom part.

Keep your overnight bag for the boat in the front of the cabin with you; you might not have access to the rear door once parked on board. Have some snacks and drinks in the vehicle, they are not always available for purchase in the port

Once you have moved further forward to passport control with your vehicle, your passport and maybe some of the other documents will be inspected (go to the building on the right in Genoa; in Marseille you’ll automatically get to passport control. Hand the white card to the official who will keep it. Now you can move towards the boat where your boarding card might be inspected before boarding.

A space on board will be assigned to you and once you have parked your vehicle you can go to your cabin. The cabin pass contains a 4 digit number which opens the door when keyed in and finished with the validate key (or the green one).

When you have an outside cabin, the television can be activated by paying a small fee at reception on board.

On board you can purchase full board or half board, representing good value for money at XX or XX EUR respectively. Tickets are available in the bars or ask at reception on the French vessels.

If you are having trouble on board, you are unhappy with your cabin or any other aspect of the boat, go to the reception, and outline the situation. If reception cannot resolve your complaint, ask for the “commissaire de bord”. He is the equivalent of the purser, in charge and usually obliged to help. Do not expect all of the staff on board to speak any other then Arabic and French though.

Customs Procedures

Please note that GPS receivers and Satellite Telephones need to be registered and entered into your passport and that CB radios are illegal in Tunisia, i.e. it is best not to have any - theoretically at least. Procedures for the registration of GPS / Sat Phones are available on request from XXXXXXXXX.

Spirits and Tobacco are fine to bring in quantities which can be regarded as for personal consumption although the official limits are 1 ltr and 200 cigarettes. Tobacco is better purchased on board or at the port of Tunis in the duty free (central row of buildings).

Once the boat has departed, collect the following from reception

- one white “carte d’embarquement et de debarquement” per passport
- one blue/white “demande d’autorisation” per vehicle
- one “fiche d’entrée” per vehicle

You will also need

- Your passports
- The vehicles registration document
- An authorisation with a nice rubber stamp on it if the driver is not the registered owner of the vehicle (if the reg. owner is in the party, get the vehicle into his/her passport). This paper is called “Authorisation de conduire” and does not require a particular form. Pre-prints are available from XXXXXXXXXX.

Fill in the cards / authorisation with the required details as per the samples enclosed and keep together with the rest of your paperwork.

When travelling out on a Tunisian boat you can organise most of the bureaucracy on board as follows:

Check on Deck 5 and 6 when the customs desks are manned or ask at reception for times and present all your documentation at one of the desks (The one with the printer on it is usually the last to visit). Your visa and your vehicle will be stamped into your passport and most of the forms will be handed back to you. You will also receive a green printout which is your permit to temporarily import the vehicle into Tunisia. Keep all paperwork together.

When you travel on an Italian or a French vessel, collect the required forms on board, they will then be processed in the port of LaGoulette, on some sailings with large groups, rallies etc. Tunisan Customs officials are aboard the EU vessels.

When you disembark in Tunis, make sure you queue with the other “tourist” vehicles and not with the locals if possible. If you move slowly and an official spots you, he´ll direct you into the right queue. At the first booth the official will check whether you have a visa stamp in your passport and your documents are in order. Proceed to the next holding area as directed once you have cleared the first booth.

Stay with the vehicle and look for an “inspecteur” who will take a quick look at your vehicle and ask for your communications equipment. Once he is happy he’ll scribble his verdict on the back of one of the forms which you filled in on the boat or at customs.

Once you have the scribbles on the form, you are done, provided you have organised the green printout for the vehicle on the boat. If not, queue at the booth at the top end of the lane and present your forms for the vehicle, your passport and your logbook (authorisation) where they will be inspected.

Once the official is happy, he’ll send you to the other side of the booth, where all details will be entered into the computer, your vehicle stamped into your passport and your green printout be handed to you.

If you need to purchase vehicle insurance, change some money first (also for fuel) and go to the insurance office towards the top end of the long building in the centre. Insurance is available (third party only) for 7 or 21 days at a nominal fee (EUR XX,- to XX,-).

You can now proceed to the exit where the officials will inspect your paperwork and keep part of it. Make sure you get the green printout for the vehicle back as this is your authorisation for the temporary import of your vehicle.

Just outside the port exit is a café / sandwich bar on the corner opposite (hard to see due to the amount of traffic) and the nearest filling station is a few hundred yards away towards Tunis. An ATM can be found outside the check in building at La Goulette port (unreliable), in La Goulette on the first square at three banks and in Tunis just off the roundabout with the clock tower at the bottom end of Ave. Habib Bourghiba.

Assume that you have to pay for your fuel in cash, however most stations across the country do except credit cards. The first one after the port to reliably accept plastic is a few miles down the motorway to Sousse (ESSO), another one approaching Sfax on the left hand side, one approaching Gabes on the left hand side and one in El Hamma de Gabes (TOTAL).


Exiting Tunisia


Whether you leave Tunisia at La Goulette, at Ras Ajdir or at Hazoua, procedures are in theory identical. Due to the different volumes of traffic at the borders, some procedures are streamlined at the smaller posts.

- Your passports
- Your portion of the “carte d’embarquement et de debarquement »
- Your green printout for the vehicle

At La Goulette (Tunis)


When you pull up to the port, do not get confused by all sorts of people wanting to hand you forms or documents and help you to fill them in. There is no need for any form filling ! You can park at the large car park opposite the terminal building or alongside the stalls selling ceramics

Organise your boarding cards first. You will need your logbook, your passports and your ticket for that. Go to the terminal building and present your documents to one of the attendants at the counter. He will issue you with boarding card and cabin passes, the same then on the way in. Check you receive one cabin pass for everyone travelling.

Once you have your boarding cards / cabin passes, proceed into the port as directed. At the gate an official might want to see some of your documents. At the first booth you will receive your exit stamps into your passports. Make sure every passport receives such a stamp. -4-

You can proceed further up the lane and now an inspector will want to have a chat with you and take a look inside your vehicle. When he is happy, he’ll scribble something onto your green printout which you then bring together with the passport containing the stamp for the vehicle to the desk in the centre of the lanes or to the booth at the end. Here your vehicle will be stamped out and the green form kept. You might be asked to pay 1 Dinar. Make sure you receive the exit stamp before proceeding to the boat.

On board there is no need for any more paperwork, at French customs you will just need your passports. The French are usually not interested in anything you bring back from Tunisia but we would strongly recommed to obide the law. Italian customs are after jerrycans with fuel and the Tunisians have started to look out for jerrycans on sailings to Genoa. Keep them concealed inside your vehicle.

Abfertigung in Civitivechia beim Check-In und in Tunis bei der Einreise schnell und unkompliziert.
Benötigte Dokumente:
Check-In; Pass, Ticket und Rückreiseticket
Einreise Tunis: Pass, Zulassung Auto, Voucher vom Campingplatz Douz
Dauer in Tunis : weniger als 30 Minuten vom Verlassen des Schiffs bis zur Hafenausfahrt.

Hallo zusammen, die Einreise gestern war so easy! Wir mussten zu erst zur Polizei, da kam die Frage wo wir hin möchten? Wir haben einfach Djerba gesagt und das wurde akzeptiert. Dann gab's den Stempel, das war's. Dann kam der Zoll, irgendein Papier musste mit Namen ausgefüllt werden, das war's. Der Zöllner (?) hat dann nach Gifts und money gefragt, da gab's dann unsere Schoki dann sollte nur mein Partner noch zu 3 weiteren Häuschen, dort gab's wieder Zettel und Stempel. Am Ende wollte nochmal ein sehr netter Polizist die Pässe sehen, hat uns "gute Nacht" gewünscht und drin waren wir kein Hotelvoucher o.ä. und kein Ausräumen des Campers. Alle waren sehr nett. Wir freuen uns aufs Land!

Danke für das feedback, gut zu hören. Denn eine schöne Zeit in Tunesien. Schaut ins Museum in Mareth hinein, wenn Ihr dort seid. Die freuen sich immer, wenn jemand kommt und bringen Euch ein paar Kilometer hinaus in die Berge wenn Ihr nett fragt, Glück und noch Schokolade habt..Dinar gehen auch, hilfsweise..interesting site..

Hallo Micha,

wir sind 2022 zweimal nach Tunesien gereist. Immer mit CTN und einer Campingplatz-Buchung von Sophie (Campingplatz Desert Club in Douz). Wir mussten diesen aber nie bei der Abfertigung im Hafen von La Goulette vorzeigen.
Die meisten Formalitäten konnten wir schon auf dem Schiff während der Anreise erledigen. Nötig waren Pass und Fahrzeugzulassung. Wenn in der "grünen Karte" Tunesien ausgestrichen ist, unbedingt im Hafen noch eine Versicherung abschließen. Geht problemlos dort und ist auch nicht so teuer.

Und nein Frank, es war noch NIE so das Personalausweiß und Hotelbuchung reichten, wenn man mit dem eigenen Auto einreisen wollte. Kann auch gar nicht sein, denn das Auto wurde immer im Pass eingetragen. Das hatte NUR seine Gültigkeit für Pauschalreisende mit dem Flugzeug.

Nur so nebenbei: Tunesien und Syrien habe keine gemeinsame Grenze.

Da hast Du natürlich Recht, Jürgen...Personalausweis und Hotelbuchung ist für Pauschalreisende gedacht und geht nicht, wenn man mit dem Auto einreist.

Update zum Prozedere oben: die weisse Karte "carte de sejour" gibt es seit Dezember 22 nicht mehr, die Daten werden direkt vom Pass in den Computer eingetragen.
